ClearSight Interactive is a Foster City, CA-based interactive data technology and marketing services company. We help make the ads you see while online more relevant to your interests. We provide this privacy policy so we may inform you about how our technology (“Technology”) receives information from our data providers (“Data Partners”) and processes that information on behalf of the online advertisers, website owners and other businesses that use our services (our “Clients”). What types of information does ClearSight’s Technology collect?

Our Technology collects Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”).  PII is any information that can be used to identify or locate a particular person or entity. For example, we may enable one of our Clients to send you a tailored email because you visited the Client’s website.

Our Technology also collects Non-Personally Identifiable Information ("Non-PII"). Non-PII is information that may not be used to identify or locate a particular person or entity, and includes: IP address, clickstream information, and demographic information such as age range or gender. For example, we may collect clickstream information about the websites that you visit or the searches you conduct while online.

 

How is the information collected through ClearSight Technology used?

The information we collect is generally used to tailor advertisements about goods and services that may be of interest to you, and to help our clients gain insight into their existing and prospective customers. The information is used in the following ways:  

  • To tailor an online banner advertisement on web sites that you see while you surf the Internet.

  • To tailor or verify email addresses sent to you on behalf of our Clients.

  • To tailor our Client’s direct mail campaigns.

Regardless of distribution method, our Technology utilizes data for expressed commercial marketing purposes only. And we take reasonable steps to ensure that our Clients and Data Partners follow reasonable privacy safeguards (e.g., Providing consumers with meaningful Notice and Choice) when information is collected for use by our Technology

 

Do you use Cookies or Web Beacons in connection with your Technology?

Our Technology uses cookies and web beacons. A cookie is a small text file that a browser stores on a consumer’s computer for record-keeping purposes and future recognition of that consumer’s computer by the server that placed the cookie. You can remove cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” file. For more information about cookies please visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org/cookies/. Our Technology also uses web beacons (also known as pixels and/or clear GIFs), to help understand the websites you visit and the searches you conduct while online.

 

How do I know if a web site I visit provides ClearSight Interactive with data?

We ask that our Data Partners and Clients to inform consumers about their privacy and information collection practices via their privacy policies, and, as applicable, mechanisms in addition to the privacy policy where current industry standards require.  

To whom is the information disclosed?

ClearSight Interactive discloses the information collected by our Technology on a limited basis, including the following:

We share PII and Non-PII with our Clients and Data Partners as described above. We may also share your PII with trusted third party contractors who provide services for us. These third party contractors are prohibited from using the information we provide for purposes other than performing services for us. 

We may grant our Data Partners and Clients access to reports that aggregate information about the ads presented by the ClearSight Interactive system. Please note that the information in these reports is in the aggregate, and could not identify anyone personally.  We may also release aggregate information to the public.

We may disclose your information to third parties when we reasonably believe we are obligated to do so by law, and in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual prohibited activities, including but not limited to, fraud and situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person. 

Finally, we may transfer information, including any PII, to a successor entity in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or other corporate change. 

 

What are your security procedures?  

The security of the information we collect is important to us. Information collected by the Technology is stored in databases that are maintained in a secure data center in the United States.  Access is granted only to those with authorization. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. 

 

Storage

We continuously update the information we store to ensure accuracy. We store Non-PII for up to 12 months in order to ensure that our technology is functioning properly. After 12 months, we render this information anonymous and store it for up to 3 years. 

 

Controlling the use of your information  

Opting out from Cookies

If you'd like to opt-out from having Clearsight collect your Non-PII to enable our Clients to tailor the ads that you see on line, please click here.  When you opt out, we will place an opt-out cookie on your computer. The opt-out cookie tells us not to collect your Non-PII to tailor our Clients’ online advertisement campaigns. Please note that if you delete, block or otherwise restrict cookies, or if you use a different computer or Internet browser, you may need to renew your opt-out choice. 

 

Unsubscribing / Opting out from Emails

All email communications sent by Clearsight or our Data Partners have clear instructions on how to unsubscribe from future communications. This can be accomplished in several ways including clicking on the unsubscribe link within an email or replying to the email indicating you no longer wish to receive communications.  

We also offer an online form that enables to you stop receiving targeted advertising, email and postal mail from our partners. You may reach that form by clicking here.  When you complete the form, your information will be suppressed from the database. Your opt-out request will be processed in 10 days.
